“O that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
We;ve just started back to school after our Easter break in our third trimester of classes. The break has been nice, and we do enjoy the more relaxed schedule, but we do miss the students when they’re gone.
You might remember that in December, Tom’s parents, Tom and Connie Chapman, came home on a short furlow from their mission field in Chile, South America. We were able to spend a week with them at Christmas before they started visiting their churches. They finished their travels a couple of weeks ago, and came to Mexico to spend a few days with us before returning to Chile. We really enjoyed our time with them, and it’s always a blessing to see our children interacting with their grandparents.
Mom and Dad Chapman were still here at our house when Tom and I left on our trip to visit Erika in Kentucky. We drove up (22 hours – phew!), taking her the van Mom and Dad had used during their travels so she can have a way to get back and forth to work from her new apartment. Since January, Erika had been living in temporary housing near her workplace, but while we were there last week, we helped her move into her own place. We found a great thrift store that was packed with furniture and household options, and we had a great time getting her new place outfitted. After a week there with Erika, Tom and flew back to McAllen and drove home on Tuesday. Thanks to my wonderful in-laws (both parents and daughter), the house was still standing and the kids were well fed. Thank you to all who prayed for safety on our trip.
Isaac is currently doing the first of two practicums for his theology degree. He’s helping out in a little church in Tlapa de Comonfort, Guerrero, Mexico, about 750 miles south of Monterrey. He’ll be there until the first week of June. We’d appreciate your prayers for him, that he would work diligently and be a blessing to the people there.
We’d also appreciate your prayers for the music department. The musicianship level is increasing, and we currently have 20 students. We’re already praying for another qualified teacher to help share the course load, someone who understands the importance of music in worship and in doing it with excellence as unto the Lord. Please pray with us that the Lord would provide the right person for this work.
Again, thank you for your interest and support for our ministry. We appreciate, and thank God for each of you.
I’m a horrible selfie-taker, but here we are at the Ark Encounter in Kentucky.
